Sono spesso i dettagli microscopici a far confluire l'esperienza e l'osservazione verso l'interno, liberando l'esistenza dalle catene dell'ignoranza, verso quel parco giochi chiamato infinito. DEAD BOY’S POEM (Copyright Nightwish) TESTO IN ITALIANO
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- LYRICS IN ENGLISH
DEAD BOY’S POEM (Copyright Nightwish) Born from silence, silence full of it A perfect concert my best friend So much to live for, so much to die for If only my heart had a home Sing what you can’t say Forget what you can’t play Hasten to drown into beautiful eyes Walk within my poetry, this dying music My loveletter to nobody (Chorus) Never sigh for better world It’s already composed, played and told Every thought the music I write Everything a wish for the night Wrote for the eclipse, wrote for the virgin Died for the beauty the one in the garden Created a kingdom, reached for the wisdom Failed in becoming a god (1x Chorus) “If you read this line, remember not the hand that wrote it Remember only the verse, songmaker’s cry, the one without tears For I’ve given this its strength and it has become my only strength. Comforting home, mother’s lap, chance for immortality Where being wanted became a thrill I never knew The sweet piano writing down my life” “Teach me passion for I fear it’s gone Show me love, hold the lorn So much more I wanted to give to the ones who love me I’m sorry Time will tell (this bitter farewell) I live no more to shame nor me nor you And you… I wish I didn’t feel for you anymore…” A lonely soul… An ocean soul… Dead boy's poem (live 2018) All copyrights for music and lyrics in this post belong to Nightwish (www.nightwish.com) -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- ENG
A poem, more than a song, to which I wanted to pay tribute. A jewel that, in my opinion, also celebrates that creativity unconsciously arising from the toughest solitude, that eventually becomes refuge and gate towards unimaginable extensions. Microscopic details are very often the trigger allowing experience and observation to merge inward, liberating existence from the chains of ignorance, towards that playground called infinity.

(ITA only this time.
Cerca la bellezza, trova la tua riva Prova a salvarli tutti, ma non sanguinare più Hai tali oceani dentro di te Alla fine, ti amerò per sempre" - (The poet and the pendulum - Nightwish) -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- ENG The castle that crossed my path in May came without any attempt to find it, thanks to a handful of friends that chose a thunderous but sinuous place to hug once more. How many litres of water did this castle see? How many renewed friendships? How many fish trying to climb back up? And how many plants finding refuge on a non-eternal rock? Any amount given as an answer to these questions, would not last for the time needed to pronounce it. What I am writing, is already old. After all, this is life. "Sparkle my scenery With turquoise waterfall With beauty underneath The Ever Free [...] Search for beauty, find your shore Try to save them all, bleed no more You have such oceans within In the end I will always love you" - (The poet and the pendulum - Nightwish) L'occhio attento di alcuni di voi avrà notato che ad aprile nulla è stato pubblicato per la serie "un castello al mese". The careful eye of some of you might have noticed that nothing was published in April for the "one-castle-a-month" series.
Vieni! -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- LYRICS IN ENGLISH
Elàn (By Nightwish) Leave the sleep and let the springtime talk In tongues from the time before man Listen to a daffodil tell her tale Let the guest in, walk out, be the first to greet the morn The meadows of heaven await harvest The cliffs unjumped, cold waters untouched The elsewhere creatures yet unseen Finally your number came up, free fall awaits the brave Come Taste the wine, Race the blind They will guide you from the light Writing noughts till the end of time Come, surf the clouds, race the dark It feeds from the runs undone Meet me where the cliff greets the sea The answer to the riddle before your eyes Is in dead leaves and fleeting skies Returning swans and sedulous mice Writings on the gardens book, in the minute of a lover’s look Building a sandcastle close to the shore A house of cards from a worn out deck A home from the fellowship, poise and calm Write a lyric for the song only you can understand [Chorus] Riding hard every shooting star Come to life, open mind, have a laugh at the orthodox Come, drink deep let the dam of mind seep Travel with great élan, dance a jig at the funeral [Chorus] Come! The song itself is a metaphor for the hunger and thirst for life, for the right "here and now" and the "go at it and get it". As a celebration to these 3 orbits around the sun, I have read the lyrics of that song again, as they still sprinkle fragrant poetry over my occasionally bold actions. - Dedicated to Basel, and to everything and everybody this town brought to my life. -.-.-.-.-.-.-
ENG I like to explore how people cope with the topic "religion", and above all what role this has in their life. I strongly believe that every religion is fascinating and dressed with the best purposes, but our interpretation can make the difference. What verb would you choose to describe your attitude towards your religion (if any)? Explore? Trust? Believe? Ask forgiveness? There's a song that well describes the risk behind the stories that we were told and we still hear, especially when they get far from truth, claiming to be authentic. It might seem an anti-religion song (anti-christian above all), even though the purpose is quite the opposite. Lyrics and music (a bit heavy for some ears) aim for an "awakening", not to blindly believe in the stories orbiting around religion, when these are used to control or persuade people... or (even worse) to justify a war. Eventually, we are here to live the miracle. -- WEAK FANTASY (© Nightwish, www.nightwish.com) These stories given to us all Are filled with sacrifice and robes of lust Dissonant choirs and downcast eyes Self-hood of a condescending ape Behold the crown of a heavenly spy Forged in blood of those who defy Kiss the ring, praise and sing He loves you dwelling in fear and sin Fear is a choice you embrace Your only truth Tribal poetry Witchcraft filling your void Lust for fantasy Male necrocracy Every child worthy of a better tale Pick your author from à la carte fantasy Filled with suffering and slavery You live only for the days to come Shoveling trash of the upper caste Smiling mouth in a rotting head Sucking dry the teat of the scared A storytelling breed we are A starving crew with show-off toys Fear is a choice you embrace (ch.) ENG Carl Sagan was fascinated by books and by the humans ability of storing their knowledge out of the brain, in books, cassettes etc. In a TV show, he said: <<The whole idea of what happens when you read a book, I find absolutely stunning. Here is some product of a tree, with little black squibbles on it, you open it up, and inside your head is the voice of someone speaking who may have been dead 3000 years, and there it is talking directly to you. What a magical thing that is!>> He was definitely right, that voice is speaking to us, sometimes it comes from a man, sometimes from a woman, it seems to be far while it lies inside us, where it can only be heard by us. When books are given to us as a gift or lent ("I thought about you while reading it!"), if we are lucky we may find pencil comments or marks left by previous readers. I try to imagine the pencil moving, leaving those notes, and I rest my eyes on words that gave birth to thoughts in another mind, before mine was affected as well. And what are singers feeling, when they see their songs sung by friends and strangers? Those words, written in precise moments, often very intimate ones, are now moving someone else's lips. What a magical thing that is! As human beings, we are lucky enough to spread a lot, in countless ways. As human beings, we have the chance to realize that we are all part of a net of emotions that transcends time and space. As human beings, we have the honour to experience that we are "one".
