Ecco cosa direi. Ora credo siano scaduti i 5 minuti... A presto! For the time being" - Annie Dillard ------------------------------------------------ Imagine a group of people and the chance to share with them, in 5 minutes, the most important thing that you have learnt. What would you say?
I have thought about this: I'd say not to escape from this life. You shouldn't disapprove your daily routine (Annie Dillard once said that "There never was a more holy age than ours, and never a less"*). Everything is perfect the way it is. The true home is deep within that body that we lent to experience this existence. Don't make a prayer in a temple be your only shelter. Don't make a practice on a yoga mat be your only chance to dedicate you to yourself. If you are not in peace with yourself, any place will be good not for a long time and won't be yours anyway. Think about this: the more you have, the more you need to leave behind when this experience will reach the end (if there's an end...). Focus on improving your perception of the world, move slowly, put kindness and courtesy in your actions. That's what I learnt. If you do that, there will be no difference between staying in a bad suburb or on a beach kissed by Caribbean waters. Every day (every moment!) is a new notebook to be filled with attempts and achievements. Close your eyes. Then you'll really see what can bring you happiness and that you are just an infinitesimal part of the infinite. But you are infinite, that's the thing. This is what I'd say. I think that my 5 minutes are over now... Thanks for listening even though you were not forced to do so! Have a good one! (Thanks to my first yoga teacher for involuntarily giving the "initial spark" to this recap). - * from "For the time being" - Annie Dillard
