ITA then ENG - (ITA) Sullo stesso bocciolo ho visto ferita e sollievo. - On the same bud, I saw wound and relief. On the same branch, rising spring and setting fall. In the countryside, fruit trees paid homage to winter, with their cheeky and playful interpretation of "fresh snow". (What a performance, what a group of actors!) Finally, on the same little plant, that I considered dead on many of the last 365 days, youth sat beside old age: two very different paintings, separated by just few days. Spring, this year, came very late, slow. In this slow approach, my confused glance lingered on very dense details, telling stories about complexity and precision, patience and care, acceptance and fullness. Thus, the pictures here above talk about these fragments and details, that slowed down their deployment to let me witness, observe and put all this in writing. Any of the four seasons contains all the others. An emotion, after all, makes no exception. My life gets hit by the whole spectrum of light and by its darker counterpart, like an unexplored canvas in front of Pollock's brush. I experiment white and go through black, two far away colors, both necessary but not sufficient conditions for the most magnificent rainbow. - Pictures shot in Allschwil and Arlesheim, CH, April 2018.

- Nelle foto: Castello di Santa Barbara - Alicante (Spagna) - Marzo 2018 - Per i precedenti episodi, vedi sotto :) ENG - March castle came effortlessly to me, surely representing both a symbol and a summary of my most recent path. Its walls and mine allow the gaze to leap over, eager for infinite, and grant themselves a more ornamental attitude. My breath becomes vast, with no resistance to the enticement of the wind. The seagulls are floating in front of my eyes, like thoughts in slow motion suspended over gusts of emotions.

Elàn (By Nightwish) Leave the sleep and let the springtime talk In tongues from the time before man Listen to a daffodil tell her tale Let the guest in, walk out, be the first to greet the morn The meadows of heaven await harvest The cliffs unjumped, cold waters untouched The elsewhere creatures yet unseen Finally your number came up, free fall awaits the brave Come Taste the wine, Race the blind They will guide you from the light Writing noughts till the end of time Come, surf the clouds, race the dark It feeds from the runs undone Meet me where the cliff greets the sea The answer to the riddle before your eyes Is in dead leaves and fleeting skies Returning swans and sedulous mice Writings on the gardens book, in the minute of a lover’s look Building a sandcastle close to the shore A house of cards from a worn out deck A home from the fellowship, poise and calm Write a lyric for the song only you can understand [Chorus] Riding hard every shooting star Come to life, open mind, have a laugh at the orthodox Come, drink deep let the dam of mind seep Travel with great élan, dance a jig at the funeral [Chorus] Come! The song itself is a metaphor for the hunger and thirst for life, for the right "here and now" and the "go at it and get it". Oh, mirror in the sky What is love? Can the child within my heart rise above? Can I sail through the changing ocean tides? Can I handle the seasons of my life? Well, I've been afraid of changing 'Cause I've built my life around you But time makes you bolder Even children get older I'm getting older too [...] L'universo in nessun modo è imperfetto. [...] (1989) ENG I've never been to Japan, although I often had the chance to get fascinated by it, despite the distance. Two words, with the relevant concepts, contributed to all this: - Ikigai: a word that means "a reason to wake up in the morning", the reason of your existence. - Kintsugi: art of repairing broken pottery with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum Sometimes I have the feeling that I grasped my Ikigai, for how difficult it would be to put it into words. Some other times I loose it, and I taste the emptiness that this brings, while in some situations I feel I found it but I cannot touch it, almost asymptotically. The art of Kintsugi, for its part, becomes metaphor of the potentiality of growing, evolving, thanks to the fractures and lacerations, research tools to be again united with everything else. Wherever I turn my head to, and whoever I meet, these topics get to me dressed in caresses on my cheek or in arrows in my back, in any case giving a deep meaning to everything. I play in a show of which I am a privileged spectator, and all I can do is bow to existence. ---------
"I became a hermit to free myself from the dust and the dirt of the world, looking for perfection on the other shore. But I realized that it was impossible to achieve it without loving even the garbage, the dust of the world, and life's anguish. Perfection can be achieved through embracing all things. While it is easy to fight against reality and fate, it is difficult to love them. What a beautiful world when you know how to love it! The universe is by no means imperfect. [...] Mountains, rivers, plants, universe. Here and there everything is in the same enclosure. To leave, is to arrive. To arrive, is to leave. Doesn't the wind blow as it wants in all directions? As my body returns to its original condition, blood and pus from my wounds will fall as dew from the night sky. After all, I exist nowhere in the universe. But in the universe, there is nothing which is not me." - From the movie "Why Has Bodhi-Dharma Left for the East?" However, there are a lot of antidotes, otherwise we wouldn't be here to experience them. As a tennis player, I have always loved tennis, this solitary sport that sets its main challenges and obstacles in the forced pauses, in the thoughts and in the silent anguish.
